Cops: Man shot in Germantown, likely an act of retaliation

A 25-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in his stomach on Greene Street near Logan in Germantown Tuesday night.

Shots rang out around 10 p.m. and the man was taken by a private vehicle to the Albert Einstein Medical Center. He was listed in stable condition as of 11:30 p.m., police said.

Six shell casings and the victim's blood were found on the scene. There were no witnesses. Police said the suspect fled in a white pickup truck.

The victim was likely targeted because his brother stormed into his ex-girlfriend's house - which is about two blocks from the scene of Tuesday's shooting - and shot her 32-year-old fiancee Monday afternoon, police said.

The three block stretch of Logan Street between Wayne Avenue and Greene Street has been the scene of three shootings between Monday afternoon and Tuesday night.
