A man was shot 16 times in the city's Fairhill section this afternoon and survived, police said.

A man was shot 16 times in the city's Fairhill section this afternoon and survived, police said.

The 29-year-old man was shot on Mascher Street near Cambria shortly before 3 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital in extermely critical condition.

Police are still searching for a suspect and motive in the case but given the number of times the victim was shot, he is believed to have been the intended target of the gunfire.
