The 1997 Ford Club Wagon does seat 15 people, according to online reviews, so it was only a bit overpacked when Elisaul C. Miranda, 20, of Philadelphia, lost control for an unknown reason as he drove south on Interstate 95 near the Route 141/Churchman's Marsh exit and rolled the van several times, according to the Delaware State Police. The 17 people were taken to Christiana Hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

Miranda was charged with driving without a valid driver's license, failure to show proof of insurance and driving an unregistered motor vehicle, according to the Delaware State Police. Miranda and his passengers were traveling to a job site in Chesapeake City, Md. Troopers partially closed the highway after the 6:30 a.m. wreck, leading to severe congestion.
