Cops: 1 dead, 2 hurt in 'execution style' shooting

One man is dead, and two more wounded, after a violent confrontation outside a corner store in Nicetown, police said.

About 7:20 p.m., officers were called to the China King corner store on Hicks Street near Bristol, police said.

They found three men shot on the pavement in front of the store.

One of the victims, 25, had been shot in the buttocks. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later, police said.

The two other males, both 21, were also taken to Temple. Both had been shot multiple times, and both remain at the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Investigators on the scene said three males in a maroon sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus, drove up to their victims and opened fire in an "execution style" attack.

It's not clear what sparked the shooting, according to police.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the store in an attempt to piece together what happened. So far, no witnesses have come forward.

There is no information available on the suspects.
