Coach Reid's son hit with traffic violations

Eagles head coach Andy Reid's son, Britt, was pulled over for several traffic violations Thursday, after years without a run-in with the law.

Eagles head coach Andy Reid's son, Britt, was pulled over for several traffic violations Thursday, after years without a run-in with the law.

State police said Britt Reid, 26, was given citations for speeding, careless driving and tire equipment violations while driving on a state roadway in Lower Merion Township. A state police spokesowman did not know the exact location or time of Reid's traffic stop.

Reid can either deal with the citations by paying the appropriate fines or by taking them before a magisterial district judge, the spokeswoman said.

The traffic citations are tame compared to the trouble Reid faced in 2007, when he displayed a gun to another driver during a road-rage incident. While free on bail for that case, Britt Reid was found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants and in possession of more than 200 prescription pills.

He was sentenced to eight to 23 months in jail and served five months of that sentence before being paroled into Montgomery County Drug Court for 15 months. He graduated from drug court in June 2009 and has not made headlines since.
