An 11-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday night after they were shot on a crowded playground on 4th Street near Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia.

An 11-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday night after they were shot on a crowded playground on 4th Street near Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia.
About 8:55 p.m., the teenage suspect fired shots into a crowd of children at Sach's Playground, wounding the boy once in his right ankle and the girl once in her left thigh, police said.
The boy was taken to Pennsylvania Hospital by police, and the girl was transported to the same hospital by private auto, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Police were unsure of the shooter's motive as of 11 p.m., and it was unclear how many children were at the playground when the shots rang out, police said.
A gun was recovered in an alley near the park, and police said the suspect was described as a light-skinned man in his late teens, who is about 5-feet-5 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and was wearing a blue denim jacket and jeans. Cops were unsure of the man's race.
Police searched the area for surveillance footage of the shooting, and said it was unclear how many witnesses were taken to speak with detectives after the incident, police said.
No arrests were made.

When the racist nitwits comment on a suspects race they are only diluting the magnitude of the crime. Stay on subject. What kind of person is capable of shooting into a crowd of children? Whoever it is, whatever race, does not matter. What matters is this cretin should be locked away from the rest of society for a long, long time. Nobody wants to live in a world where it's unsafe for children to play in a playground. There are studies funded to determine idiotic questions such a the most popular car color.
