Boy hospitalized after fall from window

A 1-year-old boy suffered a cut to his lip and a swollen left cheek after pushing the screen out of a second floor window and falling to the ground Thursday night in the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. on 82nd Street near Grovers Avenue.

The boy was in the living room of a second floor apartment when he fell through the window, said Officer Tanya Little, a police department spokeswoman.

The boy was taken by a private vehicle to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and was listed in stable condition as of 11 p.m.

On Tuesday, a 2-year-old boy was hospitalized after he fell out of a second floor window at a house in Elmwood.
