Body pulled from Schuylkill

A body was spotted floating in the Schuylkill River Monday afternoon, police said, adding that they'll investigate to see if it's connected to either of the two vehicles found floating in the river last month.

At 4:40 p.m. police received a call for a body in the river near St. Joe’s Boathouse on Kelly Drive near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

Central Detectives said the body, which had been in the water for several weeks, was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office to determine cause of death and identity.

Two vehicles were found floating in the river on Jan. 12 and Jan. 15 both along Kelly Drive. No one was found inside of either vehicle.
