A hefty, scruffy-bearded bandit robbed a South Philadelphia Rite Aid at gunpoint on Monday, police said.

Surveillance images show the thief, a balding, 30-something white man who wore glasses and a white striped golf shirt, walking into the store, at Snyder Avenue near Swanson Street, at 3:46 p.m.

Police said he wandered the aisles for about 30 minutes, then followed a female Rite Aid employee as she entered the store's office. The crook pulled out a black handgun and ordered the employee to empty the store's safe. Police said the robber made off with about $3,000 and fled on foot in an unknown direction

Tipsters can contact South Detectives at 215-686-3013.

Why they say it a white man? Maybe that's a black man in makeup. Or the black man is hiding behind that guy. No way a white man hold up a Rite Aid.

Tie between Bud Fox and FletcherT. BTW, Homer, horizontal stripes are NOT slimming. And I'm guessing he wasn't in the Slim-Fast aisle for 30 minutes. It wasn't a black guy in a fat suit, it was 2 black guys. Yeah, I'm bored at work, I'll show myself out.

Ease up you guys and show a little sensitivity. He is obviously a black man born into a white man's body and is awaiting pre-op racial re-assignment at the Michael Jackson Clinic for Passing.
