Argument about whose boy is better athlete leads to brawl

Two parents were arrested Wednesday afternoon at a high school boys' lacrosse game after their argument exploded into an all-out brawl that left both men injured.

The fathers, both in their early 50s, were fighting about which of their children was better suited to play a particular position on Archbishop Wood's team, which was playing at Lansdale Catholic High School, said Sgt. Alex Kromdyk of the Lansdale Police Department. Archbishop Wood is a Catholic school in Warminster, Bucks County.

Kromdyk declined to release the men's names because "both parents, though cited for their actions, had the sense to step away from the field and out of view of the other adults, and more importantly, from the students playing on the field."

One parent is from Jenkintown, and the other, Jamison, Kromdyk added. Paramedics treated one combatant on the scene. Both men were cited for disorderly conduct and released, Kromdyk said.
