6-year-old shot, hospitalized in one of 4 S. Philly shootings

Police are investigating several shootings in South Philadelphia tonight, including a triple shooting in Point Breeze that sent a 6-year-old girl to the hospital.

Police were investigating several shootings in South Philadelphia Sunday evening, including a triple shooting that left a 6-year-old girl hospitalized.

The mayhem began around 9 p.m. Police said a 22-year-old man was shot in the left thigh outside at Marston and Dickinson streets in Grays Ferry. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania by a private vehicle and listed in stable condition.

Six blocks away, a 16-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg while standing in her yard on New Hope Street near Moore, police said. She was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition.

At 12th and Carpenter streets, a 27-year-old man was shot once in the right arm, once in the buttocks and suffered a graze wound to his left arm outside at 9:25 p.m., according to police. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital by medics and listed in stable condition.

In Point Breeze, a 23-year-old woman, 17-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl were all injured in a shooting outside at 18th and Tasker streets just after 9:30 p.m., police said. Both the woman and the teen were shot in the left foot and taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The 6-year-old was shot twice in her left leg and taken to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition. Police had no suspects in the shooting.

It was unclear if the incidents were related late Sunday night.
