Nets player questioned in alleged rape at Center City hotel

POSTED: Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 11:36 AM

UPDATE, 12:28 p.m.: Nets player Andray Blatche, who media reports identified as the player involved, reported on his Twitter feed just a few minutes ago: "Im ok and I didn't do anything jus was n the area when it happened."

Police are investigating a report that a 21-year-old woman was raped overnight at the Four Seasons hotel in Center City.

The assault allegedly occurred about 3:30 a.m. in the posh hotel located at 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. A woman was taken to the hospital for care, and special-victims investigators are questioning people.

A Brooklyn Nets player is among those police have questioned, but a police source said he appears to be a potential witness and not a suspect. The Nets are in town to play the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center tonight. Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King said: "We are aware of the ongoing police investigation regarding a member of the Brooklyn Nets. We will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded. All of our players are available for tonight's game.”

Remember sports stars don't go to jail for things like rape (or even murder). They have the best lawyers money can buy and enough money to pay off the rapee.

but they do go to jail for almost 2 years for dogfighting rings, neddy. and plaxico went to jail for having an illegal gun. so your logic is a little off, chief.

how about rae carruth, OJ Simpson (yes, he's in jail), maurice clarett, darryl strawberry, jamal lewis, mike tyson, pete rose, jayson williams, marion jones, nate newton, lawrence phillips. neddy said that NO athletes go to jail which i correctly disagreed with. if you're going to chime in, at least have something intelligent to say. since they're not 2legit, maybe you should quit.
