Cops: Man stabbed on subway platform
A man was stabbed and robbed of his bicycle on a City Hall subway platform early this morning, according to police.
The 31-year-old victim and his alleged assailant boarded the Market-Frankford El at separate stops, and as they exited the El at 15th Street around 12:45 a.m., the men got into an argument of an unknown nature, police said.
As the victim was trying to lift his mountain bicycle over the turnstile, the assailant charged at him with a knife and cut the victim's chest, causing several small lacerations, police said.
The knife-wielding man then grabbed the victim's bike and tried to run with it, but the bicycle was too cumbersome and the man dropped it and fled through a City Hall exit, according to police.
The offender has not yet been identified but police described him as a 6-foot-2 Hispanic man with a gray-and-black beard and an all-gray hoodie.
The victim has been listed in stable condition.
And they wonder why we move to the suburbs. Disco Dave- There are now more people moving from the suburbs into Phila. than the other way around.
Thad Lawrence - The Ignorant will soon learn to go ack to the suburbs where they come from

Best transit system in the nation! How many incidents do they average per month now? At least no one shot into a train this time. DC- on the tracks it is. Not the platform. The system is extremely safe. You're thinking of the lesser one in the lesser city. NY.

Hopefully, the victim didn't fall to the urine soaked ground of the subway. With SEPTA being the highest ranked large transit system in America, I would hate to see what NYC, Chicago, LA, or Houston's system would be like. FletcherT- Much worse. SEPTA is fantastic. Elect more dems in harrisburg in November to see SEPTA at it's full potential.

What in the world is — units123 talking about! zippy1346
does SEPTA have security webcams? Tyrone Biggums
The train platform is as much a part of the train system as the vehicle. SEPTA is responsible for safety on it as well. Tell that to the young fellow who died after being jumped on a platform by a bunch of punks and to those who were shot when a teen fired into a train from the platform. DC
The sad part about this is, with all the crime in this city, this
incident could have taken place anywhere or anytime of the day.
The transit system is not at fault, the individuals on the street
are in question. donher- Units123 what the hell are u talking about 'on the tracks' 'not the platform'? I ride every single day. It's EXTREMELY dangerous 'on the platform' and 'on the tracks.' Anyone can be murdered by these animals at any time noon, 3pm, midnitght, doesn't matter. Random completely unprovoked attacks are COMMON. Units123 you work for Septa?
It's the knives! ...If only we could legislate better knife-control and get these knives off the street, the city would be a much better place. JamesIgnatius
We're still trying to figure out which planet units123 is on. There is definite interference between his/her brain and logical thought patterns. I'd hate to think units123 is a SEPTA employee. DC
