17-year-old slain in Kensington identified

A 17-year-old boy who died of a gunshot wound to the face in Kensington over the weekend was identified by authorities Monday as Joel Gutierrez.

A 17-year-old boy who died of a gunshot wound to the face in Kensington over the weekend was identified by authorities Monday as Joel Gutierrez.

Gutierrez lived on Keim Street near Ontario, about two blocks from where he was fatally shot on Hartville Street near Westmoreland, police said. The teenager was shot once in the right side of the face shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday and died on the street.

Police have not reported any motive or suspects in Gutierrez's killing.
