A man wanted for allegedly shooting another man to death outside a trendy bar at Northern Liberties’ Piazza at Schmidt’s complex earlier this month was arrested Tuesday in Texas, authorities said.
Steven Miller, 22, was pulled over in Houston by U.S. Marshals and officials from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and arrested without incident, according to U.S. Marshals Eastern District of Pennsylvania Supervisory Deputy James Burke.
Police say Miller, who court records show has prior arrests for illegal firearms possession, shot Maurice Kimble, 24, of Upper Darby, several times after an argument broke out between the two men on the patio at PYT bar. Kimble collapsed in the courtyard at the Piazza and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
After Kimble’s slaying, U.S. Marshals in Pennsylvania developed information that indicated Miller had fled to Texas. On Tuesday, the accused killer was being held at a Harris County jail awaiting extradition back to Philadelphia.

I typically hold back from joining in the negativity and labeling game on this website, but when I read such horrific, racist comments, I struggle to keep my mouth shut. It is so mysterious that so many urban blacks remain incapable of rising up out of poverty! After all, their schools are so well funded and full of quality teachers. And there certainly aren't any racist white people (or anti-black people of other races) who exclude them from employment opportunities. Bigots like you prefer that black people remain uneducated and criminally active because, otherwise, they may take your jobs and actually be more educated and successful than you. ahumanbeing, you're right in one sense but we all have to move on. I know plenty of successful African Americans who have and are making their way. I'm not saying it's easy or that there aren't any racists out there, but they don't let that stop them, or the past for that matter.
