A man was robbed and stabbed on a West Philadelphia street Monday night, police said.

A 53-year-old man was robbed and stabbed in West Philadelphia Monday night.
The man was near 46th and Walnut streets just after 9 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown suspect who stabbed him in the back four times and stole his wallet, police said. The man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and listed in stable condition as of 9:45 p.m.
Police have not made any arrests in the incident.

- 46th & Walnut is not the heart of West Philly. It's possible to call it part of the transition zone from University City when going west. This crime also sounds like Black-on-Black crime. The victim was 53 years old, not a typical student age. There has also been a pattern of robberies in this corridor area (46th-48th Streets) since mid-December. The perpetrator also had a knife, much more silent than a gun. But 4 stab wounds? Really? Please be aware of your surroundings. Thanks, and best wishes to the victim.— BMVILLA
