$10K stolen in home invasion

Two thugs burst into a unit inside of a Wissahickon apartment complex Thursday morning and stole $10,000 police said.

Two men used a long-handle screw driver to pry open the door of a third-floor apartment on Rochelle Avenue near Sumac Street at 10 a.m.

A 25-year-old woman who lives at the third-floor apartment on Rochelle Avenue near Sumac Street told police the men barged in and demanded information about her 31-year-old live-in boyfriend and cash. Police said they then ransacked the place, stole the money and a cell phone. The woman’s boyfriend was at work at the time. Police said the boyfriend and his father own two restaurants.

The men fled in an unknown direction and police hadn’t arrested anyone by Thursday night.
