Ridley guy on Chick-fil-A: “Men poking other men brings disease”
William Bender
You knew – or should have known – that the most asinine comments surrounding the Chick-fil-A controversy would emanate from Delaware County. The reasons why are complex and varied. My former employer, the Delaware County Daily Times, does not disappoint:
“Men poking other men brings disease," Peter Bachowsky tells reporter Kathleen Carey outside the Chick-fil-A on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township.
And there you have it.

Bachowsky's stupidity deserved to be outed. deb2
"People have a right to believe whatever they want. I think he has a right to say whatever he wants". Why not use a quote that has some logic? Because it doesn't fit your or your employer's agenda. You were a hack at the Times and fit right in at the DN. jimmymack
So does "men poking women". Should we stop that too? Man, I hope not. mjc1
Given the DN level of readership, the poking comment was appropriate. Anything more would confuse the readership. rduexpress
Did Billy Bender just Slander and entire county? I think he did. Wow. That's some top shelf journalism! I would argue that most asinine comments are found on this website. My brilliant witticisms are all alone in a sea of babble. LarzNero
Slander is spoken. dgambacorta

Talk about stereotyping. Bender just generalized about 600,000 people! Will a boycott begin of all Philly Media from our friends in Delaware County?? Earl J- Here's my theory, based on nothing more than my personal observations over 20+ years living there: Delaware County residents, including myself, are more likely to speak without a filter, which increases the chances of a reporter getting an asinine - or brilliant - response to a question. I don't consider it a negative stereotype. Either way, great quote.
- Bender, as a fellow native, I could not agree more with your response. The guy's quote was classic. The reporter asked him a question and he gave an answer. Good stuff.

This isn't about freedom of speech - this is about a company donating millions of dollars to off-the-wall right-wing homophobic organizations. These organizations say the most vile and ugly things imaginable. If the owner was simply against gay marraige like Bill Marriot - nobody would really care.

"Why not use a quote that has some logic? Because it doesn't fit your or your employer's agenda."
This is funny! Really, why focus on the stupidest, most outrageous or entertaining thing a person says? Why don't we look for context?
You know, like why would people quote the president saying: "If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen" and omit what came after? "The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together."
While I am confident jimmymack is fair and balanced in all his dealings, some of us tend to simplify, generalize and latch on to the most sensational words that spill out of people's mouths.
As former Dodger/Cardinal Pedro Guerrero once said: “Sometimes they write what I say and not what I mean.” Ollie Brown
Is this news or gossip? Another_1
