Disturbing headlines

Jane Morgan, 84, Mary Agnes, 87, and Emily Molin, 85, of Delaware County, and Waltraud “Trudi” Koos, 75, of Montgomery County, were allegedly murdered.

These stories are just tough to read.

In the past week, you may have heard about Jane Morgan, 84, Mary Agnes, 87, and Emily Molin, 85, of Delaware County, and Waltraud "Trudi" Koos, 75, of Montgomery County. All four of them were allegedly murdered.

There's something uniquely disturbing about the untimely death of an older person. You make it this far, surviving everything life could throw at you, only to meet a violent end at the hands of someone you depend on. Your spouse, son or friend.

Police say Molin was run over – multiple times – by her Darby Borough son last week. He's in a Maryland prison without bail. He says it was an accident and that she fell out of the van he was driving. Cops don't believe him. Koos was strangled to death by her longtime husband. He was sentenced Tuesday in Norristown. Authorities say he thought she was cheating on him.

Morgan was raped and murdered in 2008 by Upper Darby sicko Billy Williams, a so-called "good friend" of hers. He pleaded guilty last week. Agnes was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, who had cared for her, but allegedly told investigators that he'd "had enough." He's still in jail after waiving his preliminary hearing.

Let's hope you don't have to read about another one of these cases anytime soon.
