Cops: Drunk brings beer to Target; burns rubber at prison

James David Hughes, 26, of Media, walked in to the Concord Township Target around 9:30 p.m. Saturday drinking a can of Budweiser, according to state police. When an employee asked if he could help him, Hughes allegedly said "How about you give me a f------ job," according to a news release.

Instead of being given an application, Hughes was asked to leave the store, at which time he became angry and threw his beer bottle at the front door, police said.

After leaving Target, Hughes, for unknown reasons, decided to drive to the Delaware County Prison where he did "multiple burnouts" in his Chevy Cavalier in front of a K-9 unit, police said.

He was later stopped on Cheyney Road in Thornbury Township, where police determined he was drunk on beer and controlled substances, according to the news release.

Hughes was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and related offenses.
