The little boy was just 16 days shy of marking his first year in this world, but before he could, he was taken out of it under what police are calling suspicious circumstances.
Around 8:24 a.m. Sunday, Collingdale police were called to a home on Lincoln Avenue for a baby in respiratory distress, said Collingdale Police Chief Bob Adams.
The baby boy, whose first birthday would have been on July 31, was taken to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m., according to police.
Collingdale police called county detectives to the scene and inside of the house investigators found drug paraphernalia, Adams said.
The Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy today. No one is currently in custody for the child's death but Adams did say it is being carried as suspicious.
Why am i reading about this happening so much ?? Its disgusting, how can a person a baby get into drugs.Theres no excuse.Im a recovering drug addict and let me tell you we know where our drugs are at all times. That poor baby from kensington having both cocaine and heroin in his system was appauling.I used to think i was going to die mixing the two.If this was on purpose this baby boy needs to be spoken for. This poor baby was brought into the world by his mother to provide food stamps and welfare money for her .Father not around of course. Drugs are a product of this culture, killed baby. pete from boothwyn
On the news she boo hooed about how her kids are everything. If that was true they would have NEVER found drugs. Take her other kids away before something happens to them cozlooby
I saw the mother in the news. Her eyes looked like she needed her smack fix really badly. I'm used to seeing that look in the junkies here in my neighborhood. Sad. Very sad. DonQ
