Joshua Ward, 26, of Broomall, has been charged with vehicular homicide and related offenses in the death of a 67-year-old Boyertown man last month

Arrest in fatal I-95 accident

Joshua Ward is still recovering from the injuries he sustained when he wrecked his 2013 BMW 335is on I-95 in Tinicum Township July 6 and killed a 67-year-old Boyertown man who was stranded on the side of the road in his Chrysler.

Ward's rehabilitation will have to be moved to the Delaware County Prison.

After getting his toxicology results back from the lab, state police headed over to Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park today and charged Ward, 26, with homicide by vehicle, DUI and related offenses.

Police say Ward lost control of his car around 3:30 a.m. and crossed all three lanes, slamming into Darryl Davis' car. Ward was severely injured in the accident. Toxicology results show that he was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

“We had witnesses say that speed was an issue," said state police Corporal Gerry McShea.

Ward's bail was set at $250,000.
