BILBAO, Spain – Brett Brown still has it.

And he's making sure that rookie center Nerlens Noel realizes that. The two New Englanders competed in a shooting competition following practice.

Noel had an early lead. Did the Everett, Mass. native hold on to beat the South Portland, Maine product?

"No he did not!" said Brown, who played point guard at Boston University from 1980-83. "And I'll have you know that South Portland, Maine is 2 and Boston is 1."

Noel worked out with Brown and big-man coach Greg Foster before the shooting competition. The drills consisted on his attempting mid-range, one-handed shots.

The 6-11 center won't play until at least December - if at all this season - because of the anterior cruciate ligament tear he suffered during his lone season at Kentucky.
