76ers practiced today at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. As has been for the last week or so, the topic was power forward Elton Brand, who played only about 6 minutes in the second half of yesterday's win over the New Jersey Nets. Sixers coach Eddie Jordan, understandably, seems to be fed up with all the questions about Brand.

Check out the Deep Sixer video in the bottom right player for a snippet of Jordan's feelings about Brand's minutes. Also, if you want to follow Deep Sixer on Twitter, click here: Deep Sixer.

Sixers play the Utah Jazz tomorrow at the Wachovia Center.

There's no way to tell if Elton's a bust or not is he's not getting to play.

Anyone who watches basketball knows the first half of the season is mostly a waste of time for veteran players. Elton will prove his worth if the Sixers get to the playoffs. He can bump Dalenbert from center, and make room for Speights at the '4'.

Elton Brand is still a good player but has lost his explosion and quick lift off the floor. He's no longer a franchise power forward. He's not worth the 80 million dollar contract. The Sixers should wait until February and pick up Allen Iverson off of waivers. Bring "The Answer" back home to finish out his career.

I have this to say to the people defending Brand somehow. Have you watched these games? Elton has been horrible. Its not like he is getting 10 minutes he game he has been getting 20+ minutes most nights and has been flat out bad. He has lost his confidence and more important his ability to explode off the floor. This team would be much better with Speights starting at his spot. This could go down as the worst signing in Philly sports history.
