We'll be keeping this blog live during tonight's NBA Draft, which begins around 7:30, and in which the 76ers have the 17th selection. Since everything that happens above the Sixers impacts their decision, we'll be analyzing the night as it progresses and what it might mean for the Sixers.

    the guy's going to be eric maynor. chad ford's reporting the sixers are leaning maynor over lawson.

    Thank goodness we didn't have to choose between those two! Holliday is a wonderful pick-up at 17.

John Mitchell is in his first year covering the 76ers for the Inquirer after joining the paper in November 2011. He covered the Washington Wizards for the Washington Times from 1998 to 2008. He's also worked at the Philadelphia Tribune, the Wilmington News Journal, Courier-Post, Trenton Times and Elmira Star-Gazette.

Born and raised in West Philadelphia - not too far from Will Smith - he graduated from Overbrook High School the same year the 76ers won their last championship. He's a proud graduate of Howard University and the proud father of two sons, Jared and Jordan.
