MEMPHIS – Adonis Thomas was only on the court for the final 7 minutes, 53 seconds of Friday’s 117-95 setback to his hometown Memphis Grizzlies.
But the player on a 10-day contract with the 76ers took advantage of the opportunity, scoring four points on 2-for-3 shooting at FedExForum.
“I just wanted to stay aggressive,” Thomas said of his Sixers' debut. “I think I did a great job. Coach [Brett Brown] put me in there. One of the biggest things they want me to do is be aggressive no matter how much time you get. Just go in there and give your all.”
His aggressive play isn’t the only reason why this will be a memorable game for the 6-foot-7 swingman. The former University of Memphis standout received a loud ovation from the 17,456 in attendance when he checked into the game. He also had around 25 family members and friends who purchased tickets.
