This and That

Sorry, guys, for the delayed posting. I was hoping to post mostly in the mornings, but I was computer-less as my laptop crashed and took a trip to the computer hospital. It's back now, with a brand new hard drive, and ready to roll.

Realistically, there's no breaking news from Sixer-land ...

But in these last few weeks before Training Camp opens (Sept. 30, at Penn St.), there's plenty of downtime to chat about the Sixers, but not necessarily a ton of moves happening to spur the conversation.

So I scoured the 'net for a few of my favorite Sixer-related bits.

Before I do that, here's a blog from one of our own, fatdarren. Sorry, fatdarren, but I guess since that's your login name, that's how it has to be? Not chiseleddarren, or absofsteeldarren ... here's the link to his blog. I checked it out, it's all things Philadelphia sports. The Curse Reverser.

Alright, so ESPN put up some "Summer Forecasts" for the upcoming season. They've got the Sixers behind Boston and Cleveland in the East. ESPN writes that "Philly has the horses to be a threat," and the "Sixers could crash the part come June." You can check it out here: Summer Forecast.

Okay, I know this has probably been seen by every Sixer fan on the planet, but maybe it's been a couple of years since you saw it. Not a bad thing to remind yourself that the head coach of your team seems to be a darn nice guy, too. I remember this when it happened, but just watched it again today. National Anthem. I might make that video a permanent part of this blog.

The between the legs dunk? Yeah, it was years ago. Still, it's cool. Andre Iguodala.

Maybe those links will bring us a few hours closer to Training Camp and the opening of the 2008-09 season.

Please, though, don't let my links impede what so far has been a very solid discussion about the Sixers' status as a legit contender this season.
