Sixers must use Okafor "in a bunch of ways"

Thursday night was a learning for moment for 76ers coach Brett Brown.

Brown realized that you can't leave Jahlil Okafor on the low block during the 115-114 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"I think that he needs to be used in a bunch of ways," Brown said of his rookie center. "You can see how clever and skilled he can be at an elbow, where he comes up and plays with space. He turns and faces. He can make moves off of pull through or live ball. I think anything static doesn't favor him."

Things were static for him in the early going. That's when he shot 2-for-8 and scored just four points.  However,  Okafor wasn't in one spot in the second half, making 2 of 4 shots. He was also able to get to the foul line where the 6-foot-11, 268-pounder shot 4-for-5.  The third overall pick out of Duke finished the game with12 points.

"So I think that's on me to put him in situations to move a little bit more and the team to move around him," Brown said. "I think when it was slow, very slow and static, that didn't favor him [Thursday night night]. He felt length. He felt height. And he felt a crowd. "
