These posts are becoming redundant; I feel like we've posted some version of this same post at least 15 times this season.

What post?

The blog post where we discuss a 76ers loss -- this one 107-96 to the Indiana Pacers -- and then the post-game assessment of that same loss. If you'd prefer the hard-and-fast news, click here: Jordan on way out.

If you want a little analysis following tonight's game, this is the place. The Sixers looked bad. They passed the ball out of bounds repeatedly, finishing with 21 turnovers. The Pacers, who aren't very good, scored mostly around the rim, were ahead 15 points with 1 minute, 30 seconds remaining, and actually looked like they wanted the win more than the Sixers, which is curious considering they were without star player Danny Granger and have a worse record than the Sixers.

Entering the fourth quarter, the Sixers trailed by 9 points. In the fourth quarter, neither Andre Iguodala or Elton Brand played. Iguodala sat the final 15-plus minutes.

After the game, Jordan was asked if benching Iguodala and Brand was an indication that he felt they were playing without energy. Jordan did not agree, outright, saying only that he wanted to play a unit that "brought a little bit more" energy.

Of that fourth-quarter, Jordan said: "We were energetic and we were communicating and we had a hop to our step and there was a lot of spirit out there."

Last night, there was very little hop in the Sixers' step, very little spirit on the floor.

In that fourth quarter, the Sixers allowed 31 points, which, multiplied by a theoretical four quarters, means they would have allowed 124 for a full game with the way they played defense in that fourth quarter. Asked again if he was pleased with his team's effort (outside of Iguodala and Brand), Jordan said the guys that played in the fourth quarter "communicated and brought a spirit to the game."

After the game, Brand offered this opinion: “I don’t know about Andre, but I know personally, myself, I felt I played hard and just wanted a chance to be out there and play. I don’t make the decisions, so when we lose it’s like, ‘Okay, I don’t think that has worked many times this year.’ We don’t have many wins, but a lot of those wins, Andre and myself, I don’t think we were sitting on the bench a lot of those wins.”

More from Brand: “We didn’t utilize our mismatches and they utilized theirs. Guys like Dahntay Jones and [Brandon] Rush, 25 points and 24 points, I’m not guarding those guys.”

How do you explain not playing both Brand and Iguodala in a game's fourth quarter? It would be one thing to say the organization was trying to evaluate their young talent, but that argument goes out the window when you consider that Jodie Meeks -- the player most in need of being evaluated -- didn't check into the game until the final, meaningless, minute.

Both Brand and Iguodala struggle in certain areas (Brand with keeping the ball moving on the offensive end, Iguodala was 2 for 8 on the night) but you'd be hard-pressed to find evidence that either player took chunks of time off; neither has been previously accused of such a thing.

Jordan is the most mystifying coach in recent memory. I get the sense sometimes that he has no respect for Stefanski. What I would love to know: did he sign off on the Iverson signing or did he lay the blame on Stefanski for the signing, therey undermining his ability to teach the Princeton system (not that the system would work with this team)?

Anyone can see that the EJ has lost the team. A couple of reasons why are his in game decisions. Pulling Holiday his best on ball defender with 2 fouls. Pulling Sammy D with 5 mins in the 1st and not putting him until 5 mins in the 2nd. Louwill allowed to play like he is D.Wade going 1 on 4. Last night playing #72 for the entire 4th. Really. There are atleast five ways to defend the pick and roll and we employ none of them. Holiday will be an All-Star in 3 years. The entire staff has to go with the exception of Mckie to work with Holiday and Meeks.

Let's hope Jordan and Stefanski aren't fired till the season is over and the Sixers tank. That way, we can blame the terrible season entirely on them, and with our lottery pick (chosen by a new GM), a few good trades (made by a new GM), and a new defensive-minded coach, we can have hope again next year and maybe even drop a few hundred bucks on a six pack of relatively good tickets (like we did back in the Iverson heyday).

Kate, you are my MVP of the season. I love how you expose Jordan after every game for the clown that he is. When they fire him, I think you deserve to be interim coach! yeah Kate....hollaaaa

Sixers need to clean house! Dump Jordan & Stefanski. Hire a defensive minded coach - Jay Wright, Avery or Van Gundy (if you want a recycled guy). Keep Holiday - the kid is going to be an All-Star. Decide which guy they want to keep Thad or Iggy & trade the other. I still believe in Brand, the guy has been hurt for 2 years & this year has played totally out of his comfort zone in this EJ offense, in the right system Brand will be fine. So. IMO, there are 3 of next years 5 starters - everyone could/should be gone!

I thought Rich Kotite had retired from coaching. Apparently, he just changed sports. Good riddance.

Get rid of Iggy, keep Thad.

I've thought about whether to keep Iggy or Thad, and I've decided to believe in Thad. With Young, you sacrifice some defense, but there's actually efficiency in his offensive game. For how athletic Iggy is, he cannot make his own shot. And no, I do not count a jab step, fall-away jumper at the elbow as making your own shot. I mean, Iggy's career high is 34 points. Thad just dropped 32 a few games ago, on a team where he isn't an offensive priority. We've got to go with potential.

Kate, don't you think now is the time to bring Chris Ford down from the office to the bench. The last time they played with any sense of purpose and direction was when he lasted coached them after the team fired Randy Aires. The only reason they did not bring him back was because he held Iverson to the same standards as the 12th man. But atleast they played like they were there brothers keeper basically they looked out for each other on the court.

You guys are missing the grand scheme here! It's so obvious! They brought in Stefanski and Jordan to destroy the franchise so that we CAN get a top flight pick! It's right in front of our eyes! Sixers basketball, you gotta be anywhere but here!
