Lawson to workout Friday

According to a source familiar with the situation, North Carolina guard Ty Lawson is one of five players the 76ers are scheduled to bring in Friday for workouts.

The 2009 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25 at Madison Square Garden; the Sixers have the 17th pick. Sixers General Manager Ed Stefanski has said the team is looking to draft a guard. Here are the other players scheduled to workout on Friday, although the lineup is subject to change.

1.) Ty Lawson, 6-0 point guard, North Carolina: Currently being projected by some mock drafts as the Sixers' pick at 17. Averaged 16.6 points and 6.6 assists a game last year for the National Champs.

2.) Toney Douglas, 6-1 point guard/shooting guard, Florida State: Averaged 21.5 points and 2.9 assists a game, shot 38.5 percent from three.

3.) Stefon Jackson, 6-5 shooting guard, UTEP: Averaged 24.5 points a game last year.

4.) Jodie Meeks, 6-4 guard, Kentucky: Averaged 23.7 points last year and shot 40.6 percent from the 3-point line.

5.) Terrence Williams, 6-6 shooting guard/small forward, Louisville: Averaged 12.5 points last year and shot 38.5 percent from three.
