According to a source familiar with the situation, North Carolina guard Ty Lawson is one of five players the 76ers are scheduled to bring in Friday for workouts.

The 2009 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25 at Madison Square Garden; the Sixers have the 17th pick. Sixers General Manager Ed Stefanski has said the team is looking to draft a guard. Here are the other players scheduled to workout on Friday, although the lineup is subject to change.

1.) Ty Lawson, 6-0 point guard, North Carolina: Currently being projected by some mock drafts as the Sixers' pick at 17. Averaged 16.6 points and 6.6 assists a game last year for the National Champs.

2.) Toney Douglas, 6-1 point guard/shooting guard, Florida State: Averaged 21.5 points and 2.9 assists a game, shot 38.5 percent from three.

3.) Stefon Jackson, 6-5 shooting guard, UTEP: Averaged 24.5 points a game last year.

4.) Jodie Meeks, 6-4 guard, Kentucky: Averaged 23.7 points last year and shot 40.6 percent from the 3-point line.

5.) Terrence Williams, 6-6 shooting guard/small forward, Louisville: Averaged 12.5 points last year and shot 38.5 percent from three.

Lawson is the man....get him in Philly. Save this pathetic franchise. Maybe instead of 129 people in the stands next year there will be 548!! Good growth.

Hey how about a big center? Only one ball to pass around, they need a big center to draw the defense into the middle.

I prefer any one of these guys to Willie Green. I like Lawson best though. Draft him, add a cheap veteran to go with him and let Miller go. They have ease their cap space.

Philly10, Jody Meeks is too short 6'3" to play the 2 in the NBA ala Willie Green. LGbalsac, there are only two centers in this draft. One, Hasheem Thabeet will be gone by the time the sixers pic and the other, BJ Mullins is worse than Dalembert. gallen024 and Shenkman3 you guys are on point. Lawson is the man we need, then try to do a sign and trade with Miller for Sacramento's 2 guard Kevin Martin. VanessaJ you sound like a front runnin Laker and Cowboy fan. Probably the last to get picked at kickball in grade school and didn't have a date for the senior prom. Get a backbone you front running, no proof in your statement, wanna be sports fan *smile*

Miller is gone. Get Lawson if available. Would you leave Philly if given a chance? Stefanski and the rest of the 6ers organization are B.S. artists saying they will negotiate with Miller after july 1.. DO THEY THINK PHILLY FANS ARE DUMB? YES. after July 1 Miller will be back to get his last check... 6ers are a complete joke.
