Iverson's coach: 'We have rules'
Second of three days in Istanbul. Don’t worry, 76ers fans, we’re back on the Sixers’ trail starting Tuesday @ the Washington Wizards. At that point, there will still be 67 games to watch and analyze. We can make that happen.

We’re not going overload here on the blog with anything but video and photo because the story is scheduled for Sunday’s edition of the Inquirer. You should be able to find a two-minute scrimmage video of Iverson embedded in this post as well as a photo or two of the arena and Iverson from today’s practice. Both were initially posted on Twitter, so you can get more instant updates if you follow there: Deep Sixer.
Each week, Kate will check in from the road and answer fan questions about the Sixers. Click here to ask Kate a question or e-mail her at kfagan@phillynews.com.
- The Inquirer is still getting punished for Screamin' A.'s column about A.I.'s boozing, gambling and carousing? You should remind Allen that Screamin' A. no longer writes for a publication that anyone reads. That's a lot of mileage to travel to get a no-comment from the source. Hopefully, Allen will throw you a bone, Kate. Keep up the good work. Phillip?
Who cares Kate. No one could care less about Iverson. Hasn't your astute editor John Quinn figured that out yet. I guess not. TheSage
Yeah, I don't get the AI stories either. If he had gone to Turkey right after the 1st Sixers run, fine. But he has been with several teams and its pretty old news anymore. JonKap
TheSage could not be more wrong. Good Luck. Hope to see you back in the NBA soon. That would be the only way I would watch a Sixer game live. CptObvious
Nice little junket for Kate at least. Have fun over there, looking fwd to the article. FairmountFrank- Can't blame her for taking a vacation. gho_matt
"For eight months he did nothing." Strikes me as a poor plan of attack for a guy trying to get one last go-round in the NBA this past fall. And he was SURPRISED nobody called? wmichael
CptObvious....hey we all loved AI but that guy is long gone. He was a shell 2 years ago, now he is sad to watch. JonKap
Everything pertaining to Iverson is now a total non-story. He is gone and way past relevance. Why is it the media can't let some guys go? (Iverson, Cliff Lee, Shawn Andrews) to name a few. Hiding Behind My Keyboard- The coach said that there were rules. Who comes back first, Kate or AI? Rules, practice? We talking 'bout practice! mjc1
- This is not news anymore! meez714

Comcast just showed Dei (Boom Boom) Lynam talking cliches 15 minutes before game with Bucks, and there must have been maybe 2500 people in the entire arena. Clearly, the fans have weighed in on this sixers team. TheSage- See, this is why Philly will always be a small time city... Who the hell cares what Iverson is doing now? Why do we always place so much importance on athletes who no longer play here? This guy is done. He's played for 3 teams since he left. What the heck makes him worthy of this much space in a Philly newspaper? It's the same s__t with McNabb and Burell. Why can't we just wish them well and move on? Iverson is over. Move on people, move on... GJK3161
I agree with GJK. The only plausible explanation for sending your best young sports reporter to Turkey is to write a moribund story about a past-his-prime athlete. Iverson was always overanalyzed and overcriticized, but the time for psychoanalysis is over. This is simply a guy who's doing a little money-grubbing on his last legs. Sarah Palin would approve. :-) Krilt
