Iguodala To Sit Out Against Detroit

Iguodala Out Against Pistons

Andre Iguodala won't play in the 76ers regular season finale tonight at the Wells Fargo Center against the Detroit Pistons, coach Doug Collins said after today's shootaround.

It will be the second straight game that Iguodala will be resting due to right knee tendinitis.

"He feels Friday will be one week and he is feeling better now," Collins said. "It really makes no sense to put him out there. Most importantly I want him to feel good mentally about the leg."

Collins said he would start Andres Nocioni instead of Evan Turner, who started for Iguodala in Monday's 95-85 loss to the visiting Orlando Magic.

"I am bringing Evan off bench tonight and the reason I am doing that is that is the role he will have in the playoffs," Collins said. "I want him to get accumulated to coming in and playing because that is what he will be doing against Miami."

The Sixers opening round playoff series will begin this weekend in Miami on either Saturday or Sunday.

Collins speculated that it would be Saturday.

"It looks like we may have to play on Saturday," Collins said. "Everybody thought it was Sunday. I think right now we are looking at possibly Saturday and Monday. My feeling is that probably the network is looking at a New York-Boston playoff on a Sunday and Lakers. Where I thought it looked like Sunday, tentatively it looks like Saturday for us."
