Covington set to return Monday, Holmes out "8 to 10 days"

The 76ers will be without Richaun Holmes longer than coach Brett Brown expected.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 76ers will be without Richaun Holmes longer than coach Brett Brown expected.

"I believe it's going to be another eight-to-10 days, which might mean four to six games," Brown said following Friday's shootaround for that night's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Holmes strained his right hamstring while doing drills prior to Wednesday's home loss to the Toronto Raptors. The rookie reserve power forward did not compete in the game.  He and small forward Robert Covington did not accompany the Sixers on their two-game road at OKC and San Antonio Spurs (Saturday).

Covington aggravated a strained right MCL on Nov. 3. He has missed the last five games.

"I think Rob, we are going to see [him] in the Dallas [Mavericks] game on Monday" at home, Brown said.
