Heat 105, Sixers 101 - "Best" & "Worst" Awards

"Best" and "Worst" Awards: Sixers vs. Miami Heat

The 76ers ended another frustrating season with a 105-101 loss to the Miami Heat in the season finale at the Wells Fargo Center. They finished the season with 10 consecutive defeats and at 18-64, failed to match last year's 19-63 record.  Here is the "Best" and "Worst" of the final game.

Best performance: On a Miami team where four starters played the entire game, Michael Beasley led the Heat with 34 points. He shot 12 for 27 from the field and made 10 of 11 rebounds. Beasley almost had a triple-double with 11 rebounds and eight assists, along with two steals and two blocked shots.

Runnerup: Zoran (the other) Dragic scored a career-high 22 points for the Heat. He shot 9 of 17 from the field and hit 3 of 7 three pointers.

Best performance on a losing team: The Sixers JaKarr Sampson scored a career-high 22 points. His dunk off his own steal gave the Sixers their final lead, 101-100 with 23.7 seconds left. Sampson shot 8 for 15 from the field and hit 6 of 7 foul shots. He added five rebounds and a career-high six assists.

Best defensive performance: Heat guard Tyler Johnson not only played all 48 minutes but he made four steals, causing a quarter of the Sixers 16 turnovers. The fact that Johnson was able to focus on defense despite not getting a breather, was an impressive showing.

Best statistic: Henry Walker, who used to be known as Bill Walker, was 6 for 10 from the field, all from three-point range. His three-pointer with 19.9 seconds left gave the Heat the lead for good, 103-101.

Worst statistic: The Sixers shot 5 for 29 (17.2 percent) from three point range.

Fast fact: Both teams missed five free throws. The Sixers were 15 for 20 (75 percent) and Miami was 20 for 25 (80 percent).

Quotable: I haven't had this much time off in a long time. Playing until late June the last four years has been a lot, both mentally and especially physically. It'll be good for me to get away for a while and come back better next year."
