Collins not expected to miss more games

76ers coach Doug Collins, who missed the second half of last night's game due to symptoms of vertigo, is not expected to miss any more game time. Collins is expected to be on the bench for the team's game on Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, this confirmed by a source close to Collins.

Collins missed a preseason game in Cincinnati, Ohio due to dizziness and headaches, which was later confirmed as vertigo. The symptoms stem from a fall earlier in the summer; during the fall, Collins broke ribs and hit his head.

Collins' relapse on Wednesday night was due to the fact that he had stopped taking his medication on game days because the medication makes Collins tired. Since the Sixers were on the second night of a back-to-back, meaning Collins had missed two days of medication, the vertigo symptoms returned. The dosage is expected to be adjusted, allowing Collins to stay on the medication even on game days and immediately return to coaching.

The Sixers are 1-4 and play the Cavaliers on Friday and the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden. If you want to read the latest post on Sixers' swingman Andre Iguodala, click here: The Iguodala Question. For immediate updates, follow on Twitter: Deep Sixer.
