Collins Eastern Conference Coach of the Month

A 9-3 Month earned Collins the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month Award

Doug Collins, who guided the 76ers to their best month percentage-wise in eight years, was named on Tuesday as the NBA's Eastern Conference Coach of the Month.

The Sixers went 9-3 in February and the .750 percentage was their best in a single month since going 8-2 in February, 2003.

What's interesting is that Tuesday's game against the visiting Dallas Mavericks will be a battle of Coach of the Month award winners.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle was named the Western Conference coach of the month after guiding Dallas to an 11-1 record.

For the Sixers, one of the highlights of the month was a 77-71 home win over San Antonio Spurs, owners of the NBA's best record. The Sixers ended the month with four straight wins for their longest win streak of the season.
