Michael Carter-Williams was named the NBA Eastern Conference player of the week on Monday.

The 76ers point guard is just the second rookie to win this honor during the starting week of their NBA career. Shaquille O’Neal did it as an Orlando Magic in 1992.

Carter-Williams averaged 20.7 points, 9.0 steals and 4.3 assists in last week’s victories over the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls.
