CHARLOTTE – It can be argued that for one day Bob Brown, literally, is the proudest man in the state of Maine.
That’s because New England’s legendary basketball coach had a hand in nurturing the head coaches in Friday’s game between the 76ers and the Charlotte Bobcats at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Brown’s son, Brett, is the Sixers’ rookie coach. Charlotte first-year coach Steve Clifford worked as an assistant coach under Bob Brown at Saint Anselm College in Manchester. N.H. and later at Boston University.
And both Brett and Clifford are extremely grateful for the guidance Bob provided.
