"Best" and "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Pistons

AUBURN HILLS – My look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the Detroit Pistons' 115-100 victory over the 76ers on Sunday afternoon at the Palace of Auburn Hills:

Best performance: It goes to Andre Drummond. Aside from free-throw shooting, the Pistons center did what he wanted against the Sixers. He had career highs of 31 points, 19 rebounds and six steals to go with two blocks. Drummond became the first person to record 31 points, 19 rebounds and six steals since the Houston Rockets Akeem Olujawon in 1990. The 20-year-old made just 7 of 18 free throws. But, I'll give him a pass, considering he was beast on the block.

Worst performance: This has to go to Kyle Singler. The Pistons reserve forward missed six of his seven field-goal attempts en route to finishing with five points. Let's just say Singler looked nothing like he did when I watched him destroy Temple as a Duke Blue Devil back in 2011. Not even close.

Best defensive performance:  Drummond gets this award. In addition to his two blocks, the 6-foot-11, 279-pounder grabbed 13 defensive rebounds.

Best performance in a losing effort: Thaddeus Young wins this award after producing a team-best 24 points to go with five rebounds and two blocked shots. The power forward was one of the Sixers' few bright spots before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Worst statistic: You must give this to the Pistons' foul shooting. They made just 23 of 39 (59 percent) from the free-throw line.

Best statistic: This award goes to Detroit's first-quarter three-point shooting. The Pistons made all six of their attempts in the first 12 minutes.

Worst of the Worst:  The Sixers' first-half defensive performance. They were totally outclassed in the first half, as the Pistons did whatever they wanted. Detroit led by 40-25 after one quarter, the most points surrendered in the first period by the Sixers this season. The Pistons' 70 points at the break were the most the Sixers have given up by intermission.
