"Best" and "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Lakers

Here is my look at some of the best and worst performances from the Los Angeles Lakers' 113-111 overtime victory over the 76ers Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center:

Best performance: It was a no-brainer to give this award to Jordan Clarkson. The Lakers rookie point guard finished with game high of 26 points and 11 assists to go with six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Most importantly, he scored the game-winning layup with 0.9 seconds left in overtime

Worst performance:  Even though he scored 12 points, there's no way that Robert Covington could have avoided receiving this award. The Sixers swingman made just 4 of 13 shots – including going 3-for-10 on three-pointers. He also had a team-worst five turnovers to go with five rebounds and four assists.

Best defensive performance:  This award goes to Ryan Kelly. The Lakers power forward finished with a game-high four blocks to go with seven rebounds – all defensive. Kelly also finished with 16 points.

Best performance by a Sixer: Nerlens Noel had to get this one. The rookie finished with 19 points, a game-high 14 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Worst statistic:  This goes to the Sixers' foul shooting. They made just 23 of 38 (60.5 percent).

Best statistic:  This award goes to the Lakers' 10 blocked shots. In addition to Kelly's four, Wesley Johnson had three, Robert Sacre finished with two and Tarik Black had one.

Worst of the Worst: The Sixers' defensive effort in the second quarter. They surrendered 34 points on the quarter. The Lakers shot 12-for-23 (52.2 percent) – including making 3 of 5 three-pointers.
