"Best" & "Worst" awards: Sixers vs. Bulls

My look at some of the best and worst performances from the Chicago Bulls 102-94 victory over the 76ers on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Center:

Best performance: Joakim Noah gets this on a night when four teammates scored more points. That's because the Bulls center still was the biggest difference-maker in the game.  Scoring points, blocking shots, finding teammates and getting rebounds – you name it – he did everything to help the Bulls avoid the upset.  The 6-foot-11, 232-pounder finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, four blocked shots and a steal.

Worst performance: I have to give this to Henry Sims even though a lot of his struggles were a result of being matched up with Noah, an all-star. The Sixers center made just 2 of 9 shots to finish with four points. Sims also finished with five rebounds, three turnovers and one assist and a steal.

Best defensive performance: This award goes to Noah. In addition to his four blocks, the center altered several shots and always appeared to be in the right defensive position. Six of his 10 rebounds came on the defensive end.

Best performance in a losing effort:  Thaddeus Young wins this award after producing a game highs of 24 points and four steals. The power forward also had four rebounds and two assists. Young has now scored 20 plus points in a season-high tying four straight games.

Worst statistic: This award goes to the Sixers making just nine of 19 foul shots (47.4 percent).

Best statistic: You have to give this to the Bulls holding a 52-38 rebounding advantage. Nine of the 10 Sixers who played had a shot attempt.

Worst of the Worst:  This goes to the Sixers' bad stretch after Young tied the score at 85-85 with 7 minutes, 43 seconds left. They followed that by missing their next three shot attempts – all layups- while the Bulls hit two three-pointers to take a six-point lead. That turned out to be the difference in the game.
