Agent: Bynum injections routine
Turns out that the injections that Andrew Bynum will have in his knees in the coming days are the same injections he’s been having every year for the past “three or four years,” according to his agent, and there is no need to be worried.
“He’s been getting them for quite some time now,” agent David Lee, reached Sunday afternoon, said. “Look at it as being nothing more than, like, a WD-40 for his knees.”
Bynum will receive injections of Synvisc-One, or SYNVISC, Lee said.
“The best way I can describe it is it greases up the joint and that’s a good thing,” Lee said. “They did it last year. It’s routine. It’s non-invasive.”
Lee also said that to the best of his knowledge Bynum “is on schedule to be ready” for the team’s season-opener on Oct. 31.
So I guess if somehow Bynum misses the opener, then we'll know for sure this could be Jeff Ruland part 2. power808- The German procedure was supposed to make this unnecessary. Or so we were led to believe. Mr. Reporter?
...I have a hard time breathing thinking of Bynum not playing a significant amount of games this year. They are still my fav team...but it has been a lllooonnngggg Groundhogs day, and I am too excited for it to be over. (My prob is that usually when I'm this excited...disappointment smacks the S$%t out of me) justacarpenter
Bynum, Howard, Utley and Vick are Philly's owners gifts to fan base. Flush the season down the tubes before it even starts. fafink
I line in Los Angeles. A Sixers fan all the way. When Bynam was traded to Philly, my Laker fan friends laughed. Bynam has bad knees, everyone out here knows that he has been out more than in the lineup over the past few years. He doesn't play hurt. Don't count on him. He's a big disappointment. Not damages goods to the extent that Ruland was. However, the Sixers fans expected a warrior. Bynam has no heart. He's a big, talented softie who will tear your hearts out. gentian
Ah, Philly fan. So traumatized from being trodden upon.
But baby, even the losers get lucky sometimes. This could work out. rzzzzz
If he's a bust they still have a ton of cap space at seasons end. Even with his shady knees, it's still a better situation than they had with too many dala and brand. sore richard- Synvisc-One® is indicated for patients with osteoarthritis in the knee. It's made from a natural substance that lubricates and cushions the joints. It can provide up to 6 months of osteoarthritis knee pain relief with just one injection mtairy1
Translation: 300+ pounds pounding for six years= bone on bone which needs thick annual lube job. Perhaps, a side effect of the Synvisc-One is a bad disposition. Control the weight, AB ,and give us 60 games ( plus playoffs) for three or four years. Go Sixers! philsix6
Question is why are the Synvisc injections necessary after the recent knee procedure that was supposed to do the same thing? scootch
If Bynum's knees are to give him fits, I rather it be this year when the Sixers haven't locked him up to a big contract yet Ashburn072
Bynum will play 40 minutes a game for 82 games and then bring home a championship. He is the best player in the NBA. HeelYes
@'scootch': Problem is, my friend, that you are thinking like a reporter, and not like a sports groupie who grew up 5 blocks away from a place Wilt Chamberlain once bought tube socks.
