The 76ers have agreed in principle to hire Chad Iske as an assistant coach on Saturday, a league source has confirmed.
Iske comes to the Sixers from the Denver Nuggets, where he oversaw scouting of the upcoming opponent and assisted in the game-plan preparation.
He is the second assistant hired to Brett Brown's coaching staff. The Sixers hired Lloyd Pierce last week.
Former Temple guard Ramone Moore was among the 16 players the Delaware 87ers acquired exclusive NBA Development League rights to in Wednesday night’s NBA D-League expansion draft.
Moore played in 37 games last season for the league’s Springfield Armor.
The other acquistions are Josh Akognon (from the Canton Charge), Chris Cooper (Bakerfield Jam), Jerome Dyson (Tulsa 66ers), Kyle Fogg (RGV Vipers), Jeremy Green (Erie BayHawks), Frank Hassell (Canton Charge), Darington Hobson (Santa Cruz), Leo Lyons (Santa Cruz), Hamady N’Diaye (Maine Red Claws), Reeves Nelson (L.A. D-Fenders), Jerome Randle (Maine Red Claws), Ish Smith (L.A. D-Fenders), Willie Warren (RGV Vipers), Tyler Wilkerson (Austin Toros), Sean Williams (Texas Legends).
Tony Wroten is officially a 76er.
The NBA approved the franchise’s acquisition of the 6-foot-6 guard from the Memphis Grizzlies for a protected second-round pick on Thursday.
The pick is based on where the Sixers, who are expected to struggle, finish in the NBA standings. As a result, they basically surrendered nothing for the 2012 first-round selection.
The Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA is the 76ers’ first SIXERS STRONG community partner.
SIXERS STRONG is a community outreach program focusing on efforts to improve the life trajectory of local children. The Sixers will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the YMCA to announce the partner. Afterward, the Sixers’ Flight Squad will conduct a basketball clinic in the gym.
“The YMCA is legendary in its commitment to enhancing the lives of children, making them the perfect first partner for us as we work together to strengthen kids and our communities,” Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil said in a press release. “For years, the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA has inspired kids to not only better themselves, but also build up those around them through volunteerism and service. They embody the ideals we will drive home through SIXERS STRONG, both now and in the years to come.”

Remember Lloyd Pierce?
He was rumored in July to be a candidate for the 76ers head coaching job. That job eventually went to Brett Brown on Aug 12. But, Pierce is still coming to Philadelphia.
League sources have confirmed the Sixers hiring of the former Memphis Grizzlies player-development coach to a similar position Sunday. It was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.
