Since it's still early in the day for definite news about the 76ers coaching search, here's this news, which just passed through my e-mail: In an Oct. 18 preseason game, the Sixers will play the Phoenix Suns in Monterrey, Mexico.

This game will be the NBA's second game held in Monterrey -- at Arena Monterrey -- and the 18th game in Mexico, the most held in any country outside the U.S. and Canada. The game is being called NBA Mexico Game 2009 and tickets will go on sale June 1 at www.arenamonterrey.com.

“We're thrilled about the opportunity to bring some of the NBA's most exciting teams and accomplished players to Monterrey," said NBA Senior Vice President of International Development and Partnerships Emilio Collins, in a press release. "Our fans in Mexico are some of the most passionate in the world, and this year's NBA Mexico Game is sure to provide them with an unforgettable NBA experience.”

Hopefully there will be news on the coaching search soon,

--Kate

Good place to play, away from Philly, and a place where other people pay for the pleasure to see mediocrity.

All the negativity aside, I think this team has some good young players, especially Young, Speights, and Iguodala. If they tank next year, and get a top 3lottery pick, maybe they'll be a championship caliber team in the next 3 years.

This team is going nowhere until they shed all of their bad contracts (Brand, Dalembert, and even Iguodala). This team as currently constructed is doomed to 6-8 seeds and first round exits for the next 5 years. If they could somehow pull of some deal where they get a bunch of expiring deals and up stinking badly enough to win the John Wall sweepstakes (watch this kid going to Kentucky next year, he is the next elite point guard) then maybe this team has hope for the future. Even though the Sixers made the playoffs (which is no big deal in the NBA) I would trade franchises with OKC in a heartbeat (good coaching, lots of cap room and draft picks to play with, promising young players with reasonable contracts, basically all the assets the Sixers lack).

OMG the sixers should be called the SUXERS!!! ahahhaha worst team ever!! stuck in mediocrity.....FOREVER!!! OK OK I know everything about basketball so here is what you have to do...are you ready for this? You must trade AI2 (he is no real AI!!), Brand, Young, Speights. Then, Stupidanski or whatever his name is, needs to be fired! Then you must get a lottery pick and rebuild the team and maybe....just maybe in 28 years we will be a championship caliber team. Only then will I renew my season tickets. Ugh, I am done with this team. Philly is done with this team. For some reason I am telling everyone that I am done with this team yet I still read articles on the sixers and comment about each article. I really have no idea what I`m talking about, but I like to jump on the bandwagon of what other people think. And in my opinion, if they are not the top team in the world, they should not even play!!! - My mockery of every stupid sixers "fan"

Nice commentary - same guys running Chas Man out of town and booing the eagles -- hang in there - y'all be back when they're winnin - take a trip up to nyc for the disaster thats the nix or down to Dc and the chaos thats the wiz -- just a note of sanity here. This team's got some pieces and with a break or two we got something here
