76ers will make "major announcement" tomorrow

POSTED: Monday, October 17, 2011, 7:45 PM

If the NBA is not playing on Christmas day, which is closest to how you will feel about it:
Heartbroken.
Disappointed.
Don't care.

The 76ers have issued a release stating they have a "major announcement" they will make tomorrow at The Palestra. As reported at the end of last week, Comcast-Spectacor's sale of the Sixers has been approved by the NBA's Board of Governors.

Tomorrow's announcement will be the introduction of the new ownership group, led by New York billionaire Joshua Harris. Harris and his investment group have purchased the Sixers for approximately $280 million. Terms of the sale were agreed to in July and have been pending the NBA's approval since.

The NBA is currently mired in a labor dispute; the league has already canceled the first two weeks of the regular season, which was scheduled to tip off Nov. 1.

Since it's at the Palestra I hope yjis means Villanova is out of the Big 5 and the Sixers are in.

The major announcement will be preceded by Sir Charles throwing Sam Dalembert through a plate glass window.

I'm glad the sixers got new ownershio.I want a good basketball team.I support the owners in the strike. the league is broken and needs to be fixed.players just care about money.owners look at the bigger picture.fans need to realize this and quit hating all owners just because their rich. fans forget the players are millionaires too.

Since they are in a lockout, there's not much to announce. It's probably to introduce the Sixers new owner.

I want the Sixers to move to Seattle. Philly would be better off without this thug league.

I bet the announcement is that they are going to play a game at the Palestra ... if and when the season ever comes back ...

We should not care much at all for the spoiled jocks, who most can not relate to us fans. They are in a world all unto themselves.Only a very few are giving back to the society that has given so much. Most just squander their riches on fast cars and fine houses only to loose it all a short time after retirement. Most have not even finished their college education, let alone continue to pursue knowledge and skills. The hell with them, I CAN LIVE WITHOUT THE NBA FOR SURE.
