Wayns signed to 10-day contract
Marc Narducci
Rookie guard Maalik Wayns is back with the Sixers. After being waived on Jan. 6, Wayns was signed today to a 10-day contract.
The rookie free agent from Villanova and Roman Catholic High averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 assists in 20 games for the Sixers.
A team is able to sign a player to two, 10-day contracts. If a player is signed to the second 10-day deal, the team must either keep him for the rest of the season or release him after that.

Still don't understand why they didn't use the NBDL for what it's there for.... giving Wayns, a guy who showed promise in exhibitions but who clearly needs seasoning, the necessary PT in a setting where he can thrive. Wayns has some skill sets the Sixers need in speed and quickness, but are obviously still searching around the league to acquire a better option. They should go after Charles Jenkins or Josh Selby. bearsfriend
Totally agree. Good to see Maalik back on a 10-day but would rather have a commitment to him to see where he can take his game. He looked like he was trying to prove something last night in the waning minutes of the blowout loss - driving to the basket and getting to the foul line. damageboy- Cheap bastids Zeru
