NEW YORK – The 76ers have decided to say goodbye to Dewayne Dedmon.
They didn’t resign the center after his second 10-day contract expired on Sunday. The Sixers had an option to sign him for the remainder of the season or release him.
“We liked him,” coach Brett Brown said. “The time that he came in, how could you not like what he did at 7-foot? The whole year is about evaluating people. You are going to see people in and out. No reflection on Dewayne. It’s just the stage where we are at as a program.”
The 7-foot, 250-pounder averaged 3.4 points and 4.5 rebounds and 13.6 minutes in 11 appearances with the Sixers. He had nine blocked shots.
