'The Bachelorette': Marriage on her first date?

Talk about your whirlwind romances. On last night’s episode of "The Bachelorette," Ashley takes her first date, William, to a wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

Apparently our latest Bachelorette, Ashley (a University of Pennsylvania dental student) isn't into fooling around.

Last night on her first solo date, she flew with William to Las Vegas, and in short order, had a wedding cake tasting, shopped for rings and walked down the aisle (see video, below).

A little freaked out at how fast things were moving, William gamely said "I do". What's the rush? Shouldn't you have a meal together first? Or at least a conversation?

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Just before the minister was about to pronounce them man and wife, Ashley made it clear it was just a test to gauge his commitment.

Call me old-fashioned, but wouldn't a guy willing to tie the knot before getting to know you make for questionable husband material? That's a little too spontaneous. You know what they say: marry in haste but not without a pre-nup.

Meanwhile, the sleazy Bentley continued to play our eligible Bachelorette, revealing what he's really hoping to get out of the show.

And Jeff continued his "stealth approach", keeping on his black Phantom of the Opera mask despite the desert heat. And he still got a rose.

What did you think? Is Ashley smart about romance?
