The famous folkie confuses his patriotic hymns

Sweet Baby James muffs Anthem at World Series VIDEO

A lesser singer might have gotten flustered after messing up the National Anthem at the World Series. That’s America’s Game, man! But James Taylor is nothing if not a pro.

As you’ll see in this video, he came out on the field at Fenway last night to serenade the world before the second game between the Red Sox and the Cardinals.

Um, small problem. James started into “America the Beautiful”. Watch how smoothly he transitions into the intended and traditional tune, “The Star-Spangled Banner”. Well, it was a hometown mistake anyway. Katharine Lee Bates, who wrote “America the Beautiful” is another Massachusetts native (and a professor at Wellesley College).

All we can say is, Nice save, Baby James. If only Boston catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia had been as limber in the 7th inning, your team might have won that game..
